Obstetrics and gynaecology
Obstetrics is all about caring for you and your unborn child during pregnancy and childbirth, working closely with the midwifery service provided by Health & Social Care and with paediatricians.
Gynaecology is concerned with the health and wellbeing of your reproductive organs – your uterus, ovaries, cervix and vagina. This includes fertility services, urogynaecology (problems with your bowel, bladder and urinary system), pelvic malignancy and endocrinology.
Our consultants chose to specialise in obstetrics and gynaecology because they are passionate about all aspects of childbirth and about helping women enhance their health. We understand each patient we treat will have a different level of comfort discussing intimate areas of their body and some find it difficult to do so. Our team will do everything possible to help you feel relaxed and be sensitive to your needs.
We offer the following non-contract services which you or your health insurer can pay for:
- Private menopause care including oestrogen and testosterone implants
- 3D obstetric scans
- 1st trimester scans and prenatal bloods (IONA) Estimate the risk of Down’s syndrome or other serious genetic diseases
- Reassurance early pregnancy scans
- Private obstetric care packages
- Cord blood collection To store potentially life-saving stem cells
- Botox injection for pain in the vulva area
- Labiaplasty surgery for non-clinical reasons
