IVF support package

Wherever you are getting your fertility treatment, having access to on-island support for the ultrasound scans and prescription medications is both more convenient and less stressful. 

How does our IVF support package work? 

The MSG’s Consultant Obstetrician provides all the ultrasound scans necessary for the IVF package as well as the necessary prescription all in one place. We work directly with the major IVF centres to provide a completely joined-up and cost-effective service.

No referrals are necessary, simply get in touch.

What is included in the package?

The package includes all the ultrasound scans that are necessary for one cycle of IVF. After the scans we share a written report of the scan findings with your chosen IVF centre: 

• Baseline scan: This is used to assess and evaluate the ovaries and uterus to determine the appropriate time to start the first phase of IVF treatment
• Follicle tracking scans: This is carried out shortly after the baseline scan and measures the size of any active follicles that may contain an egg. This is important if you are having a fresh cycle of IVF and we will also measure the thickness of the lining of the womb (endometrium). This often needs to be repeated during your cycle.
• Endometrial thickness scan: This is carried out after the baseline scan and measures the thickness of the lining of the womb (endometrium) in preparation for embryo transfer. This is important if you are having a frozen cycle of IVF.

We also provide the necessary prescriptions for the IVF medication required, so you don’t have to go anywhere else and have a completely seamless service.  

Sometimes an unexpected finding at the baseline scan might mean the IVF centre of your choice advises treatment should be delayed. To avoid you overpaying for a package of scans and prescriptions you won't yet require, the baseline scan is charged independently from the ongoing IVF support package. 

When are the scans available?  

We understand that the timing your cycle must drive everything about your IVF treatment, so we ensure we can provide the scans at exactly the right time, even if that is at short notice or over a weekend on a Saturday or Sunday. 

Can I refer myself?  

Yes, you do not need to be referred by another healthcare professional.  

Pricing

IVF is not covered by the States contract, so you will need to pay for this service.
