Miss Lauren Green, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Maternal and Fetal Medicine, returned to her home island of Guernsey from the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford in 2021.
During her time at the John Radcliffe, Lauren worked in the tertiary maternal medicine team and led a specialist fetal medicine clinic for women with twin and higher order multiple pregnancies. She was also an educational supervisor and wellbeing lead for maternity and led multi-professional simulation training courses to promote best practice.
Born and educated in Guernsey, she undertook her medical training at the University of Southampton with a BSc (Hons) degree in biomedical sciences. She completed her postgraduate training in the Oxford Deanery where she also conducted clinical research studies, gaining a postgraduate diploma from the University of Oxford and publishing numerous peer-reviewed articles in international journals on maternal physiology in pregnancy.
Lauren is an experienced consultant with subspecialist expertise in scanning women and babies with complex issues during pregnancy, as well as caring for lower risk families.
“I am passionate about providing holistic care throughout pregnancy, which includes early pregnancy, antenatal, delivery and postnatal care, ultrasound assessment of fetal wellbeing and pre-pregnancy planning. Working collaboratively with women and their partners as part of a multi-professional team is really important to me.”
Outside work, Miss Green enjoys sea swimming, running, and spending time outdoors with her family. In 2020 she completed the virtual Thames Swimarathon and (pre-pandemic) climbed Mount Snowdon in Wales.
