Acute medicine
Diagnosing and caring for adult patients who have an acute medical illness.
Our consultant physicians diagnose and care for you if your symptoms indicate you may have a serious medical illness, usually when you come to hospital as an emergency patient, or they may see you in outpatients.
We also provide medical care to patients who are in the medical high dependency unit, which is currently based in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
