Our cardiologists diagnose, treat and care for patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels – the cardiovascular system.

If you’re experiencing problems with your heart, we understand it’s an anxious time. We will do all we can to alleviate your worry, and help you regain your physical fitness.

Our service includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology. 

We care for emergency patients and provide a wide range of outpatient, inpatient and day case investigations and procedures including stress echocardiography, resting and ambulatory ECGs, exercise treadmill testing, temporary pacemaker insertion, implantable loop recorder (REVEAL) insertion and the tilt table test. 

If you need more specialist investigations, such as angiography, angioplasty and stenting, or if you need heart surgery, we will refer you to our cardiologist and cardiac surgeon colleagues in the UK, usually at University Hospital Southampton.
