Dr Yaroslav Stefak, who joined the MSG In 2014, was born in the Ukraine and studied medicine at the Lviv State Medical University.
He worked in hospitals in the Ukraine and Poland before moving to the UK in 2001 to take up a post as a Senior Cardiology Technologist at the Clementine Churchill Hospital in London.
He then worked as a Senior House Officer in Anaesthetics in several UK hospitals before training as a Specialist Registrar in Anaesthetics and undertaking advanced pain management training.
Dr Stefak then studied for a Clinical Research Fellowship in Neuromodulation and Pain Therapy at Guy’s & St Thomas’s Hospitals in London.
He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2008 and of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College in 2012 and was awarded the European Diploma of Regional Anaesthesia the same year.
Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his family, walking, cycling and seeing new countries. He also reads classical literature, practices the Japanese martial art of aikido, and enjoys model-making, and making or repairing electrical or petrol devices.
