Elisabete joined our team of surgical assistants in 2019.
After finding her passion for working in theatres and having been inspired by her grandparents who were nurses, Elisabete undertook her training in Portugal, where she was born.
She moved to the UK in 2014 where she continued her surgical assistant training at Luton and Dunstable Hospital before moving to the Spire Hospital. Following this, Elisabete undertook further training at Bedfordshire University to teach nurses and students and is now currently studying leadership at theatre level.
Elisabete finds the most fulfilling aspect of her role is teaching and inspiring others, as well as working as part of a surgical team to provide the best care for the patient with evidence-based practices.
One of her biggest achievements includes improving patient care and safety by managing clinical risks at a hospital in Portugal, developing a business plan for nurses to become theatre practitioners and improving the retention and working environment for nurses to work in a UK hospital.
Outside of work, Elisabete enjoys walking and swimming.
