Anna loves providing continuity of care for her eye health patients, supporting and reassuring them. Seeing improvements or stability in her patient’s condition is one of the aspects of her role she enjoys most.
Anna provides the investigations needed before a patient sees the consultant ophthalmologist. This includes testing visual acuity, carrying out OCT scans, autorefractions, topography and biometry measurements, as well as helping in retinal clinics. Most of her patients are mature adults, as many eye conditions are age-related, although children are occasionally patients too.
Before joining the MSG in 2019, Anna worked in ward-based medical nursing and oncology practice for 10 years. She is happy to be acquiring new nursing skills across the board, enhancing her practice.
In her leisure time, Anna makes the most of Guernsey’s stunning coastline by sea swimming, kayaking and cliff walking. She also contributes to the local music scene as a flautist and volunteers abroad for aid relief work.
