Before joining the MSG in 2012, Mr Owen Cole was Head of Department at the Nottingham Urology Centre, Lead Cancer Clinician of the Urology Department and Lead Cancer Clinician of Nottingham University Hospitals Trust.
Trained at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School in London, he undertook urology training in the UK, before travelling to Melbourne in Australia for a prostate cancer fellowship. He is a Hunterian Professor with the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
He is a Council Member for the local charity Male Uprising Guernsey (www.mug.gg), which promotes men’s health awareness on island and have raised large sums of money for cancer care in the community and at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.
In his personal life, Mr Cole is the drummer in two local bands: The Ketones, which is a hospital band, and The Button Pushers as a non-Irish member of an Irish folk band. He used to play rugby, but now just enjoys watching.
“We have listened to urology patients on island and primarily developed our service according to their wishes. The appointment of a urology cancer nurse specialist is a good example of this, enabling patients to receive clinical and emotional support through their cancer treatment journey.”
You can refer yourself to Mr Cole as a private patient without a GP referral.
