Mr Jay Allu joined the MSG in April 2025, after having supported as a locum for a short period at the end of 2024.
He brings with him more than 20 years’ experience in surgical roles across three continents, including the UK, Australia and India.
Mr Allu was recognised as the top-performing Association of Surgeons in Great Britain and Ireland (ASGBI) affiliate member in the ChM advanced training programme for General Surgery and was awarded a high distinction in both years of his Master of Surgery at the University of Edinburgh. Since first starting his career in India, Mr Allu has completed an impressive portfolio of diplomas and qualifications in a variety of different surgical areas, all while handling a high volume of general, emergency and colorectal surgery cases.
He most recently worked as a consultant at William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, where he was promoted from Senior Specialty Registrar in 2020.
Outside of work Mr Allu enjoys playing sports, especially badminton and plays for the island’s badminton team. He also enjoys gaming on his PlayStation whenever he gets the chance, though most of his free time is spent with his three-year old son, which is his favourite way to unwind.
