Zoltan Fekete is a consultant urologist with specialist interests in endoscopic urinary stone surgery and laparoscopic and robot-assisted uro-oncological surgery.
He was inspired to pursue urology by his father, who was a widely respected urological surgeon. For him, the most fulfilling aspect of his work is helping people recover from illness and enabling the best possible quality of life.
Among his professional achievements, he introduced minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery and flexible endourological stone treatment to a urology department in 2018. In 2023, he also led the implementation of perineal prostate biopsies, replacing the previous transrectal technique in that department.
His work in antibiotic stewardship included reducing overall antibiotic use and placing greater emphasis on targeted treatment supported by routine microbiological sampling. These developments helped to reduce hospital stays, recovery times, and septic complications.
Zoltan Fekete was attracted to Guernsey by its family-friendly environment, proximity to the sea and opportunities for sport, as well as MSG’s emphasis on employees’ work-life balance. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his children, cycling, swimming, woodworking, mechanical work, and exploring history.
“Helping people recover from illness and improving their quality of life is the most fulfilling part of my role – and that this is achieved by working with skilled, well-established teams such as the one at the MSG.”
