Chair of the MSG, Dr Steve Evans joined the group in 2002 as a general physician with a special interest in elderly care.
He grew up in South Wales and attended Bristol University Medical School, graduating in 1988. Following general medical training in Bristol and Birmingham, he became a member of the Royal College of Physicians in 1994.
Registrar posts in Jersey, Southampton and New Zealand, and higher specialist training in the University Hospitals of Leicester, led to the Completion of Certificate in Specialist Training (CCST) in General and Geriatric Medicine.
Dr Evans was appointed as a Consultant Physician at Leicester General Hospital in 1999 where he helped develop stroke and syncope services.
He has been involved in developing the local geriatric service, in particular services for stroke and syncope, and has been involved in management roles for the MSG.
Outside of work Dr Evans coaches the Guernsey Raiders Ladies rugby team.
