Originally from Sweden, he trained at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine, gaining an MBBS in 2009 from King’s College London. Following a short spell in surgical training, he undertook his anaesthetic training in the northwest of England, during which he also completed an MSc in clinical research at Lancaster University.
Dr Andersson completed advanced training in perioperative medicine, developing an interest in cardiopulmonary exercise testing and risk stratification for major surgery. He went on to complete advanced training in paediatric anaesthesia at The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
He has a deep interest in global health and education, having spent time teaching English as a volunteer in the Sudan in the past, and holds a Diploma in tropical medicine and hygiene

Outside work Dr Andersson enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and children and their dog, Cosmo. He is learning to surf.
