Dr Moataz Amer joined the MSG in 2026. He graduated from Cairo University Medical School and has gained extensive paediatric experience across the Middle East, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
He completed his postgraduate paediatric training in the UK, gaining Membership and Fellowship of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. He holds a Certificate of Completion of Training in Paediatrics and has undertaken additional specialist training in neonatal medicine through the RCPCH Special Interest Module programme.
His clinical interests include general paediatrics, neonatal medicine and newborn care, childhood growth and development, and infant and childhood nutrition. He particularly values building lasting relationships with children and their families, providing continuity of care from the newborn period through to adolescence.
Alongside his paediatric career, Dr Amer has completed a Master’s degree in Sports Nutrition. This enables him to provide evidence-based nutritional guidance for young and competitive athletes, including those aspiring to compete at national, international and Olympic levels. His approach supports athletic performance and recovery while ensuring that healthy growth, development and long-term wellbeing remain the priority.
Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children, exploring Guernsey and embracing island life. He also has a strong personal interest in sport, fitness and nutrition.
“For me, being a paediatrician is not only about treating children when they are unwell. It is also about supporting their health, growth and development as they get older, while helping families feel informed and reassured at every stage.”
