Dr Kalaivani Ramalingam, who joined the MSG in 2020, graduated from Chennai, India and then did her postgraduate training in the UK in the Wessex Deanery including at Princess Anne Hospital.
After specialist training in high-risk pregnancy and pelvic floor surgery, she worked as a pelvic floor research fellow in Southampton and then went on to be a Consultant with a special interest in Pelvic floor problems at Kingston upon Thames until 2014.
Dr Ramalingam is well versed in working with several international healthcare systems, including working for Apollo Hospitals in India from 2014 to 2020, the biggest international private care corporate hospital.
She is passionate about good maternity experiences for women and has specialist training in following up women with post-delivery pelvic floor problems, setting up a special postnatal pelvic floor clinic during her time in Kingston upon Thames.
She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, an examiner for the Royal College, Chair of the Public relations committee for the International Urogynaecology association and a certified member of the International menopause society.
Outside work, Dr Ramalingam loves spending time with her teenage children (when they permit!) and enjoys cooking, baking, jewellery making and writing.
