Dr Claudia Rettberg joined the MSG in 2016 for the latest chapter of a career that has seen her working in several different countries.
Of German descent and nationality, she attended the German school in Bogota, Colombia, and went on to university and medical school there and also in Santiago, Chile. She then accumulated many years of specialist paediatric training and work experience in different countries and is certified to practice as a Paediatric specialist in Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.
Before moving to Guernsey, Dr Rettberg had spent four years working in the Western Isles of Scotland. She has worked in Jersey, the Isle of Man and the Cayman Islands, all of which equipped her with a good awareness of the nuances of working in an island community.
While building skills and experience in acute general paediatric and neonatal practice, Dr Rettberg has also honed a special interest in childhood diabetes and the management of children on insulin regimes.
She is on the specialist register of the GMC and a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
You can refer your child to Dr Rettberg as a private patient without a GP referral.
