Personal income tax is charged at a flat rate of 20%, with personal allowances and other deductions available. You are also liable for Social Security contributions (equivalent to NI), and the 2023 rate is 7% for individuals.

Excellent education
There are 16 primary schools, 9 secondary schools and 3 private schools in Guernsey. The education system is similar to the UK, with free schooling available up to the age of 18 via the state schools.
