Mr Sadeo KairsinghMBBS FRCSED-GEN.SURG. | GMC Number: 3531512
Mr Kairsingh joined the Medical Specialist Group in 2006; he is a fully trained Vascular/General Surgeon, having completed specialist training in the North West of England.
Born in Trinidad & Tobago, Mr Kairsingh graduated from the University of the West Indies in 1988; in 1992 he entered Basic Surgical Training in Manchester, where his first position was in Vascular Surgery.
He then entered Higher Surgical Specialist Training in Manchester, which involved a two-year period of research into chronic wounds and leg ulceration. He has vast experience in venous and arterial disease with a special interest in diabetic feet.
On completion of Higher Surgical Training, Mr Kairsingh undertook a fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Bristol Royal Infirmary; he worked for a year as a Consultant Vascular/General Surgeon in the NHS before taking a two-year post in the Cayman Islands.
Mr Kairsingh is recognised for performing the first ever successful major vascular operations (Aortic Aneurysm Repairs – Ruptured and Elective) in the Cayman Islands, while he also introduced a leg ulcer service there (training nursing staff on the ‘Charing Cross four layer bandage’ system for venous ulcers).
He also performed the vast majority of vascular access procedures for dialysis patients and worked closely with the resident Nephrologist. This experience has been invaluable, not only from performing major surgery with limited resources on a small island, but also from liaison with the vascular centres in Houston (Texas) and Miami (Florida).
Since joining the Medical Specialist Group, Mr Kairsingh has introduced Carotid Endarterectomies as part of the ‘Stroke Prevention Service’; he has also been instrumental in setting up new techniques for the treatment of varicose veins using Venefit Closure and Sclerotherapy.
He also runs a service for Botox injections for Axillary Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and, in addition to vascular procedures, Mr Kairsingh is a very experienced General Surgeon with laparoscopic skills. He has also introduced Open Preperitoneal Mesh Repairs of inguinal hernias as day patient procedures.
