Dr Mohammad ButtBSc MBBS MRCP FRCP | GMC Number: 4781868

Dr Butt arrives in Guernsey with vast medical experience, after qualifying from Rawalpindi, Pakistan in 1988. He completed his Oncology training in Republic of Ireland and Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology and has been working as a consultant medical oncologist in Hull University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust since 2006.

Dr Butt has been the Regional Lead Oncologist for the management of germ cell tumors. He also specialises in the management of other urological malignancies such as bladder and prostate with systemic anti cancer treatment options.

Dr Butt has been the principal oncologist for the management of breast cancer for North Lincolnshire and Goole (NLAG) NHS Trust. He has gained extensive skills in all chemotherapy and immunotherapy options for the management of breast cancer patients and has held a private practice in Spire Hull and East Riding hospital where he provided expert services for breast, urology and gynaecology portfolios.

Dr Butt was also the chief investigator of the clinical trial “BATMAN”. His clinical research experience involved recruiting patients into numerous national trials as principal investigator. He established an annual Oncology Multidisciplinary Breast Cancer Symposium in Hull under the umbrella of North of England Oncology Association and enhanced educational activities through HEY Oncology Forum and has been an educational supervisor of trainees.

Dr Butt has immense management experience and led the Oncology Department in the Queen’s Centre for Oncology. He acted as an enhanced trust appraiser and chair of various locoregional committees. He has also published in various peer reviewed journals.

Dr Butt will lead the Genitourinary and Gynaecological service in Guernsey as well as looking after Breast cancer patients.
