Born and raised in Guernsey, Miss Rebecca Fallaize was educated at Hautes Capelles Primary School and Ladies’ College. In 2003 she graduated from St George’s Hospital Medical School with a distinction in clinical management.
During her training she worked in all areas of general surgery including placements at the Bristol Children’s Hospital and the major trauma centre at North Bristol NHS Trust. She completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Education at the University of Bristol, gaining a merit, and undertook additional training in quality improvement methods aimed at improving patient care and safety. She joined the MSG in 2019.
Miss Fallaize is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, having obtained FRCS in General and Colorectal Surgery in 2016 and is on the GMC specialist register.
She is a trained laparoscopic surgeon and undertakes most operations for colorectal and biliary disease through a minimally invasive approach. Aside from her broad general surgical experience, she has a specialist interest in colorectal disease including proctological conditions, bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease and pelvic floor disorders.
Outside work, Miss Fallaize, her husband and two children embrace the outdoors lifestyle that Guernsey has to offer and has also re-entered the local music scene.
