Jim is one of the most respected specialist physiotherapists in the Channel Islandswith almost 30 years of extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries. His specialist expertise and training mean that he can deliver extended scope skills in orthopaedics and sport and exercise medicine. He has worked with elite organisations for years to develop diagnostics and treatment for the most demanding of patients: nine years in professional football then nine years working at a senior level for the UK Military, including time spent working with special forces. He has been an Advanced Practitioner for the last 13 years and is a UK and Guernsey State Registered and Chartered Physiotherapist.
He was also the lead physiotherapist for Guernsey's 2022 Commonwealth Games team and led the medical team to the last Games in Australia in 2018.
Jim’s arrival at the MSG in September 2022 grows the capability in sports and exercise medicine. He joins our four Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons to provide an enhanced service in sports and exercise medicine and in more general musculoskeletal support.
"Over the past 30 years I have been extremely fortunate to have worked with some exceptional physiotherapists, orthopaedic surgeons in the UK and USA as well as with sports and exercise consultants in professional sport and elite services of the UK Military. This has made me passionate about helping people with orthopaedic and sports injuries, developing treatment plans based on their individual needs."
I live on the west coast with my wife Emma, and three dogs Tuffers, Aspall and Harry. We love walking the cliff paths and lazy days on the beach. Despite spending so much time working in football, my main sporting interests are cricket and rugby.
